A 4-part virtual course to UNDERSTANDING YOUR CAMERA'S SETTINGS, LIGHT, and HOW TO POSE and EDIT LIKE A PRO, so you can capture your favorite moments and turn them into memories you love.

The Photo Bootcamp

Or have you ever upgraded to the new iPhone “because it has a better camera,” but your pictures don’t look any better?

Believe me, I get it. I bought my very first DSLR camera in 2011. I spent everything I’d saved from my summer nannying job ($900), because I desperately wanted to take photos and I was determined to become a photographer. Buuuut not that determined, because 5 years later, I was still shooting on auto. Sound familiar?

Have you ever purchased a new camera thinking you'd learn how to use it, but then you never actually did?

We’re Samantha and Ryan Looney and we created this course for people just like you! People who care about having photos of their most precious life moments, but don't have the time or money to enroll in a photography course at a local college or spend hours watching YouTube videos and trying to figure it out on your own. Because a few years ago, when we had no idea how to pose or how to edit our photos, we would have loved a course just like this.

Well, that's where we come in.

But you don't have the time or energy to figure it all out yourself.

Feel so confident taking and editing photos, that you're excited to share them on Instagram
Have a step-by-step guide on how to adjust all of your camera settings, so you never have to fumble around with your settings again and nail the shot every single time
Have a set of go-to poses, so you know exactly what to do with your hands and you never feel awkward standing in front of a camera again
Understand what all of the tools do when you're editing, so you can easily create your own editing style and feel confident making your pictures look professional with a few simple clicks.

what if you could:

Want to be able to Confidently capture moments and turn them into memories you’ll cherish forever?

You never miss a sunset--but wish your pictures were as magical as the moment.
You love taking pictures in new places, but you wish you knew how to pose so you look natural and not like you have no idea what the heck to do with your hands.
You love editing your photos in an app, but none of the filters ever look quite right.
You want to capture your favorite moments, but you're frustrated when they turn out a blurry or out of focus, because you only know how to shoot in auto.
You wish you knew how to remove people or objects from photos, so your pictures look just the way you want them to.

This is for you if:

The Photo Bootcamp changes that!

- Mia

"I loved how easy to follow and insightful each and every lesson was. You could really tell Sam and Ryan put a lot of effort into each class to help the students get the most out of the Bootcamp. The homework helped make the class more hands on (even while being done virtually) and the feedback was always very encouraging and helpful. You could tell they wanted to be very involved in helping you learn and grow as a photographer. I would highly recommend The Photo Bootcamp to anyone who has always had an interest and wants to learn more about photography. This course saved me so much time that I would have spent trying to learn everything on my own without guidance. I have learned a TON of valuable knowledge from the basic camera settings and what they mean, to posing naturally, to editing and actually knowing what I'm doing. I've taken many photos that I love over the course of this Bootcamp and I feel much more confident in my abilities. You will learn so much and you won't find a better deal out there!”

I've taken many photos that I love over the course of this Bootcamp and I feel much more confident in my abilities.

Photography is so much more than just a photo. It gives us a permanent way to remember. A way to document the memories that matter most. They’re the times that, when everything else is gone, you’ll still have your photos to remember. Which is why it’s important to make them count.

Yes, you can hire professional photographers, but you can’t bring a professional photographer with you everywhere. And you should have more than 10 photos you love a year–which is why it’s so important to learn how to capture these moments on your own too.

Moments are fleeting, but memories last forever.

The trips around the world, and the staycations at home. The hot days in the summer sun, ocean salt stuck to your skin and dried sand between your toes. The cozy days at home, eating brownies and bingeing tv shows. The moments you want to freeze, and the memories you’ll look back on forever.

What if there was a way you could bottle them up?

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND THINK OF YOUR HAPPIEST MEMORIES.

What’s Inside THE PHOTO BOOTCAMP?

Do you find yourself fumbling around with your camera settings but you just can't figure out how to get them quite right, so you just shoot on auto instead?

Well, in Unit 3, we cover the art of posing, so you can capture real, candid moments without feeling stiff or "posed."

You learn:
Our 10 go-to couples poses, so you have a bunch of ideas you know will look good in your back pocket
How to move and adjust your body while shooting to accentuate your best features and capture your most flattering angles
How to use the color wheel to make your subject stand out in every one of your photos
How to plan for a photo shoot, so you can make sure all of your photos tell a captivating story

UNIT 3: the art of posing

Do you feel like you can take a decent picture, but when it comes to editing, you get so overwhelmed by all of the different apps and tools and options? Have you ever opened up Adobe Lightroom and thought “what the heck does this even do?” Or have you ever taken a picture and then thought to yourself, “I wish I could just remove this pole or that person, because then it would be so. much. prettier?”

Well, in this unit, we show you exactly how to use every single tool in Adobe Lightroom (both the paid desktop and the free mobile version), how to remove people and objects from your photos using Photoshop, and how to create your own unique editing style by creating your own presets.

UNIT 4: EDITING LIKE A PRO

- Caitlin

"I loved how Sam & Ryan made topics about photography that seem intimidating (posing, finding the right light, settings), so easy to understand! I found myself saying "oh, that's not so bad after all" when I would practice during the homework. Sam & Ryan are so good at making you feel comfortable with taking photos. The feedback they provide is always so kind, constructive and encouraging. I now look at photos and styling differently, have applied the rule of thirds to EVERYTHING, haven't worried as much about the "perfect" lighting, because I learned new editing tricks to help make up for what I couldn't capture. I would 100% recommend working with Sam & Ryan to anyone who was considering it!"

- Hilary

"The Photo Bootcamp helped me understand my camera and photography in a way that was much more thorough and involved than if I had just tried to learn on my own. I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity to learn and grow my photography skills with people who truly know what they are doing! Completely worth the money and my time, it would have taken me years to figure it all out by myself!"

- Alli

"I now have the skills to capture the most important memories in my life in a way that makes me happy and proud to showcase it. Sam and Ryan know what they’re talking about. They are so invested in their students and you truly feel connected to the experience and to them. My favorite part of The Photo Bootcamp was the posing section. I work in magazines and I frequently get my photo taken and I’m always so awkward. It was great to learn how to still pose but look natural and more relaxed and confident. If you're thinking about joining The Photo Bootcamp, do it! It was so worth the investment and I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from them."

- Kristyn

“I have zero experience in photography and have never owned a “real” camera. The photos on my iPhone rarely reflect the beauty that I see in the world. This class taught me how to take a better shot on my iPhone and how to get more natural and candid photos. Plus Sam and Ryan’s energy is infectious. Overall an incredibly positive experience!”

- Paige

"I have absolutely loved the classes. I do want to compliment you on the structure of your first class. It was a lot of information, but I wouldn't have it any other way because it got me hooked!! I really appreciated seeing the immediate return of my money, just in that first class alone. You delivered information during that first hour and a half that I had never heard before even in my countless Google searches. That's when I knew it was worth it. And the price is honestly a steal for the simple way that you present the complex information!! I also love the Facebook group. It's fun to connect with other classmates and it's nice to get feedback. Ryan and Sam, I am so grateful for your talents and your willingness to share them with us!"

- Ashley

"You will not find this much information for this price anywhere else! The teaching feels like it's one on one and Sam and Ryan are so helpful and genuine in their approach to teaching. I was always looking at photographs of myself thinking "I should have stood up straighter" or "What was I doing with my hands?" Now I have some excellent tips from Sam on how to make posing seem more beautiful and natural. I was also intimidated by shooting in RAW and editing my photos. Now I feel confident to keep my settings on manual and shoot in RAW every time. I'm looking forward to getting more practice and improving on the information I gained in The Photo Bootcamp. You definitely don't want to miss out on this!"

- Erin

"I loved how genuine you both were during this course. Every time we met for a class, Sam was excited to share her knowledge with us and I felt how she genuinely wanted us all to learn and become better photographers. As a teacher, I know how important it is to connect with students. You guys did a great job and I would recommend this course to anyone interested in learning about photography. I feel so comfortable keeping my camera on manual and adjusting settings no longer feels intimidating. I also loved how we learned about everything from lighting to the color wheel to posing and even editing! The editing portion was huge for me. Learning how to navigate Photoshop and Lightroom was very valuable. Thank you for an amazing experience!"
