During our time in London, we stayed at the London Bridge Hotel, and it was absolutely spectacular. The four-star hotel combines classic London boutique charm with both modern design and comfort. London Bridge Hotel has an incredibly welcoming and gracious staff and is located right in the middle of the city, so it is the perfect place to stay if you’re planning on traveling to London.
London Bridge Hotel has two restaurants: Londinium Restaurant and Quarter Bar & Lounge. Londinium serves a full breakfast buffet that includes a traditional British breakfast. It is also open for dinner to both guests and non-guests and serves a full menu of British cuisine, such as confit pork belly, freshly battered cod and chips, and warm goat cheese salad. My personal favorite was the dark chocolate fondant cake, but is that really a surprise to anyone? But really all of the food is absolutely delicious. Quarter Bar & Lounge is comfortable and relaxing and serves both drinks and a full-service food menu. We ate dinner at the Quarter Bar & Lounge and ordered both from the Londinium menu and Bar menu, so we were able to get the best of both worlds. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, which is always really important to us, because well, we’re kind of picky eaters haha.
There is also a gym, pool, and sauna that guests can access, and it is just a short walk from the hotel. There is even a connecting door, so you don’t have to walk outside to get to the gym when it’s cold or raining. However, the gym isn’t open on the weekends.
The bed was super comfortable, and let’s be real, this is obviously the most important part. When we travel, we spend as much time as possible running around the city exploring during the day, so by the time we get back to the hotel, we are exhausted making coming home to a comfortable bed absolutely essential. The rooms are smaller than many hotel rooms in the U.S., but that’s part of the charm of many boutique hotels in Europe. They are chic and cozy and have enough space to relax and unwind. Even though the hotel is located in the middle of the city (we could see the London Eye from our bedroom window!), the rooms are very quiet and help you escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The rooms also have complimentary wifi, a flatscreen TV, a minibar, and a tea and coffee station, so you have everything you need to feel right at home.
London Bridge Hotel is located right in the heart of the city, which makes it super easy and convenient to get to our favorite sites in London. The hotel is right down the street from The Shard, which is one of the best places to go to get a spectacular view-from-above of the city. Our room even had a view of The Shard from our window. It’s also a quick walk from the hotel to Borough Market, Shakespeare’s Globe, and Tate Modern, and it is right off the London Bridge tube stop, so you can just hop on the tube and get to Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Abbey or any other London location you want to go to.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the concierge service offers converters, adapters, umbrellas (which really come in handy in rainy London), and just about any other thing you could need including helpful advice and directions.
If you’re planning a trip to London, we would definitely recommend staying at London Bridge Hotel. You’ll get comfort and a great location, which are our two top priorities while traveling. We promise you won’t regret it.
Thanks to London Bridge Hotel for our incredible stay!
