If it isn’t obvious by now, Ryan and I are absolutely, positively in love with Milos. It’s such a unique island, and it has this charming way of making us feel right at home. Don’t be surprised if we end up moving there, haha. This was our third time visiting in the last year and a half, and it just gets better and better every single time. I have a sneaking suspicion that we’ll be back again next summer.
There are over 70 beaches on the island, including hidden ones like Tsigrado. The most famous beach, Sarakiniko, is known for it’s magical moonscape. It’s actually white volcanic ash, but it’s seriously unlike anything we’ve ever seen anywhere else. Milos has the perfect mix of Greek charm and epic views without the crazy amounts of tourists, making the most untouched and unique island in Greece.

I love this! My fiancé and I heard about your blog through the Palm Springs comp that we entered! But we loved reading this – you have a beautiful blog. We got married on Friday – the day after you posted this! – and we are going to Greece for our honeymoon next summer! This helped a lot, beautiful! Thanks. Hannah x
Ahh thanks Hannah!! So glad you found it helpful! Congrats on your wedding! And SO EXCITED for you to go to Greece!! It’s the PERFECT honeymoon spot! You will LOVE it!
Do you think this could be a day trip if we are already planning on Santorini for 4 nights and Mykonos for 3 for our honeymoon in June? Or should we re-arrange and stay here for a night or two? Thanks!
I think it’d be pretty hard to do as a day trip, just because the ferry schedule to Milos is pretty limited, and a lot of times there’s only one ferry a day and it’s generally in the middle of the day. We love Milos so much, so we’d obviously suggest spending more time there, but if you really want to fit it in, if you could at least stay there for one night, so you can get a full day or two on the island, then we’d suggest that!
Hi Samantha, we’re visiting Milos for the first time next June for 4 days and at the moment I’m torn between basing ourselves in Adamas and Pollinia. We won’t be renting a car and have 2 teenagers and a tween to consider! Any suggestions??
I’d definitely consider renting ATVs, because even though it’s a small island, the beaches are pretty spread out and it’s so fun to see all the towns and different parts of the island! You can ride around really easily and the ATVs are pretty cheap to rent. Adamas is more central and definitely closer to the port and more of the main restaurants and stores, but Pollonia is really cute and charming. I think they’re both great spots to stay, so you’ll probably love either one! We’ve stayed in Pollonia twice and loved it!
Hey, lovely blog!
Could you please suggest if visiting Milos in early may would be good idea?
And we are planning for 3 Nights, what can we do in 2 or 3 days there?
Thanks!
We have visited twice in May and it has been great. Sometimes one side of the island will be windy, but that generally means the other side of the island is just fine. The island will be quite uncrowded which allows you to have a lot of space to explore and relax on the beach undisturbed. I would recommend 3 days, there is a lot to explore on both the north and southern coasts and you’ll want to spend some time in the charming town of Plaka. The island isn’t huge so you’ll never have to drive more than 30 to maybe 40 minutes max to make it from one side to the opposite far corner. I’d recommend renting a car or ATV’s so you can be flexible as taxi’s are expensive and hard to come by.
Have so much fun!
Wonderful blog!
I was planning to rent a car but it looks like ATV is the way to go, however…
There will be 4 of us, including my mom so it doesn’t look like ATV would work for us… any other ideas, or car would be fine?
Thanks so much! You can totally rent a car! It’s a little more expensive per day than an ATV, but you’ll be able to get around the island just as easily in a car!
