In September, we went on our very first international trip as a family of three to Beaches Negril, Jamaica, and we absolutely LOVED it! It was the perfect first trip out of the country with our little girl, and we loved being back in the warm water and stunning beaches of the Caribbean! It was the perfect family getaway, and it was such a dream to take Luna on her first international trip! We went with our friends Zach and Tara from The League Co. and it was so fun to watch our little girls play together. The beaches in the Caribbean are unmatched, and Negril’s Seven-Mile Beach has been voted as one of the best beaches in the world for multiple years in a row. How to Get There:
The best way to get to Beaches Negril is to fly into the Montego Bay Airport and then you take about an hour and twenty minute shuttle to Beaches Negril. Roundtrip airport transfer is included in your stay! When you land in the airport, Beaches even has a little lounge where you can sit and relax and grab a snack and a drink before you hop in the car. The drive to the resort is absolutely beautiful and our drivers were so kind and friendly.
What’s Included:
The resort is an all-inclusive, and has 10 different restaurants on the property you can choose from! We loved eating pizza on the beach and ending the night with a bowl of frozen yogurt. Our favorite restaurants were The Venetian, the Italian restaurant, and Mariachi, the Mexican restaurant. We have stayed at a handful of all-inclusive resorts and this one had the most delicious food and dining options from all the ones we’ve experienced. The best part is, you can get food at basically any time of day. They offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, coffee, and dessert options. There are also seven bars, including swim up bars.
So many activities are included as well, which makes it so you can spend your time being active and exploring or relaxing on the beach without a care in the world. As an all-inclusive, they have scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hobby cats so you can play on the water and not have to worry about added expenses. There’s also a great fitness center, tennis courts, basketball courts, and beach volleyball so you can stay active throughout your trip.
Family-Friendly:
Beaches Negril is such a family-friendly resort, which makes it an incredible experience for everyone! They have a Kids Camp with certified nannies, so you can drop your kids off and enjoy some adult time, and your kids will be taken care of no matter what age they are. They even have a climate-controlled nursery with cribs for littles, so they can easily take a nap there. There’s an entire waterpark and splash pad play area for kids and it really is so fun. We loved going down the water slides and floating around the lazy river. Beaches Negril also has a special Sesame Street Character Breakfast so kids can have a character breakfast. (This is an additional charge, but definitely something fun and special for younger kids.) Beaches Resort is the only Caribbean resort with a cast of characters. You can even bake with Cookie Monster or make puppets with Bert & Ernie. There’s even an X-Box Lounge and a Teens Club for older kids.
We spent most of our time relaxing and playing on the beach, because the ocean water was so calm and the perfect temperature when we went in September. The beach here doesn’t have much of a shore break, which made it so fun to relax and swim in with our little Luna. She loved splashing around in the water! The water is the most beautiful clear turquoise blue, and we even saw sting rays swimming by during our stay! The beach area is truly so beautiful and they have lounge chairs, beds, and umbrellas, so you can enjoy peak relaxation in the sun. There are also three different pools and whirlpools, so you truly have it all!
There are also a lot of great options just for adults. There’s an adults only pool, a spa where you can get massages, facials, and body treatments, and even a nightclub to party and dance all night if you want.
Beaches Negril is also a beautiful wedding venue. We saw a few different weddings hosted here during our stay, and it such a beautiful place, not only to get married, but also to allow your wedding party and guests to have an incredible destination wedding vacation.
COVID-19 Entry Requirements:
As of April 22, 2022, Jamaica no longer has any entry requirement for those arriving to Jamaica from the United States. Traveling internationally right now does require a bit more planning, but from our experience, it really wasn’t that difficult and it was SO worth it to travel abroad again and get to experience the beauty of the Caribbean! It’s best to stay up to date and check the official Visit Jamaica tourism website before your trip for the most up-to-date information on current requirements for entry.
We loved our stay at Beaches Negril so much that we can’t wait to go back and visit again! It was truly an unforgettable trip and we made family memories here that will last a lifetime!
