Europe

Europe, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain

There’s no where else quite like Europe in the summer. From the beaches in Italy to the colorful houses of Portugal and the charming cobblestone streets in between, there’s really nothing better than summering in Europe. We’ve been to Europe every summer for the last four years, and honestly, it’s our favorite tradition. Imagine eating fresh gelato, driving around with the windows down, and taking in the smells of fresh citrus and ocean air. It really doesn’t get much better than that.

5 European Cities to Visit This Summer

Here are the five best cities in Europe to visit this summer:

10 Things to do in Barcelona

BARCELONA, SPAIN

Barcelona is such a beautiful city filled with incredible architecture, unique art, and stunning culture. It’s one of the best cities in Europe in our opinion and such a fun and vibrant city to begin a European vacay. From some of the most beautiful buildings in the world to mouthwatering churros and stunning beaches along the Mediterranean, Barcelona really has it all. Whether you’re an art lover, foodie, or just like getting lost in a new city, Barcelona certainly won’t disappoint.

POLIGNANO A MARE, ITALY

When people think of Italian beaches, they generally think of the Amalfi Coast or Cinque Terre, but what most people don’t know is that the southeastern coast of Italy is equally, if not more, stunning. Polignano a Mare is a charming beach town set right on the cliffs and overlooks the Adriatic Sea. It’s unlike anywhere else we’ve ever seen before and we absolutely fell in love with the small town feel! From the perfectly turquoise blue water, it’s the perfect place to relax on the beach and swim in the warm Adriatic Sea. Polignano a Mare is not as popular among tourists, which means it’s not as expensive or crowded as its west coast neighbors.

HERE ARE THREE TOWNS TO VISIT WHILE YOU’RE IN PUGLIA!

LISBON, PORTUGAL

We always say Portugal is the hidden gem of Europe. Lisbon is full of colorful houses, blue tiles, and red roofs. It’s such a fun and vibrant city with so much culture and pastries that are to. die. for. The cobblestone streets really give you that old European feel and the people are so kind and genuinely excited to share their country with you. Make sure to spend a day exploring the castles of Sintra while you’re there!

VILLEFRANCHE SUR MER, FRANCE

The French Riviera is honestly a dream come true. It’s home to some of the most stunning beaches and it’s a popular European getaway for celebrities and the elite. There are a lot of beautiful towns along the coast, but we loved Villefranche-sur-Mer, because it’s a colorful, quaint town right on the water. It’s also right in between Monaco and Nice, so it’s easy to get around and spend some time visiting the other towns as well. It’s also not nearly as crowded, so you get more of a quiet coastal experie

European Cities to Visit This Summer

MILOS, GREECE

While Santorini might be a more obvious option, Milos is by far our favorite island in Greece. It’s has a very authentic Greek feel to it, and it’s much more laidback and less crowded than the other Greek islands. However, it has definitely started gaining popularity, so it is busier than it was a few years ago. The moonscape of Sarakiniko Beach is truly one of the most breathtaking places on earth, and if you’re looking for a soft sand beach, visit Tsigrado or Firiplaka. The water in Milos is some of the clearest blue and turquoise water we’ve ever seen. The island is a so picturesque with its adorable towns, traditional Greek churches, and stunning beaches. We’ve been three times in the last three years, and we can’t wait to go back again! There’s seriously no where else quite like it.
